The more time I spend with the Fuji X-Pro1, the more I’m enjoying it. I’m also finding that there is a learning curve that was not unlike when I first purchased my used Leica M4-P. It took me weeks of shooting for it to feel comfortable in my hands. This camera takes us back to a much more analog feel, despite having some fantastic digital improvements. The fact that you manually select shutter speed and apertures, is a throwback that a lot of photographers have been wishing for. Having grown up in the age of manual cameras, it has a natural feel in my hands.
There are several reviews out on the web right now and I’ve been trying to create a list of bookmarks to find how other photographers are using the X-Pro1. Here are some links that have some great information on the camera.
Zack Arias - Atlanta, GA photographer
Derek Clark - Scottish photographer
Patrick Laroque - Montreal photographer
Morten Byskov - photographer from Vernon, BC
Douglas McCarthy
FixelPix - Northern Ireland photographer
Gary Tyson - f8 photography in Hong Kong
Adrian Seah - Hand Carry Only
Petteri Sulonen - Finnish photographer
DP Review
Ken Rockwell
Nick Devlin - Luminous Landscape
Patrick Leong – great overall review, his review echoes my feelings
Check out some of the reviews and tips. You’ll notice that several of the links above are from outside the US. That’s because Fuji launched the X-Pro1 outside before introducing it in the United States. Many of the photographers have had their cameras for weeks and have learned some of the ins and outs of it.
